Old School Sound Studio is a fully equipped professional recording studio conveniently located in South West Edmonton, just off of the Whitemud Freeway. The studio is stocked with top name microphones, outboard gear, and other conveniences, including a scenic outdoor artist's lounge. Our philosophy is simple: we are all about the artist and the art. Capturing the art is what we do.
Old School Sound was designed by noted studio architect Rod Gervais. Each room has an independent, floating concrete slab which provides ideal sound isolation between studio rooms, and from the world outside. In addition, each room has been acoustically designed and treated to provide maximum acoustic performance. Our electrical system was also designed for critical recording, as all of our gear runs to a star grounded system, with the lights, air, etc. running on an isolated leg. Then we add some of the best recording equipment money can buy, and the rest is left up to the performance.
